For their last outing of the 2022 summer, the 50 Peaks Team surveyed Peak 6708 in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. The hike was a total of 6.5 miles with an elevation gain of 1,500 ft. A total of 51 species were observed and the common species included Juniperus communis, Penstemon rupicola, Juncus parryi and Phlox diffusa.

Peak 6708 was the 12th and final peak this summer, as well as the 23rd peak surveyed for the 50 Peaks Project. This summer, the team hiked 105 miles (with a total of 33,900 ft. elevation gain), collected 314 specimens and added 33 species to the Compiled Species List.

The 50 Peaks Team will be back Summer 2023 with new interns!
