Iron Peak

On July 12th 2023, Inthone, Erik, and Nick surveyed Iron Peak. It was an interns-only venture, so our ID skills were really put to the test! This peak had already been surveyed by last year's crew, but our task was to scour the peak for plants that they had missed. And indeed, there were more plants to find-- the north face of the ridge was covered with snow last year, but bare when we arrived to survey. On this north face, we found Picea engelmannii. Another notable addition to the list was a species of Cherleria that we collected and will be working to identify in coming weeks.
