On August 10th, Brielle, David, and Sophia made their way to the Snoqualmie region of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest to take on Alta Mountain. They were joined by retired lead botanist of the Mt. Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest, Laura Potash. She had so much to knowledge to share during the trip! Overall, the trip was 11.11 miles with an elevation gain of 3,478 ft. The common species included Juniperus communis, Eremogone capillaris and Luetkea pectinata; we observed a total of 52 species. The bugs were ruthless throughout the hike, but the views made up for it in the end!
